What do you really do at work?

As the Director of Meetings and Events, my position is all about relationships, effective communication, making sure all invested parties have everything they need (and then some) and details, details, details in order to make sure all of the moving parts come together successfully.

Describe your Perfect Day.

A sunny day on a lake, in a boat, water skiing, swimming and tubing with family and friends

What’s your Superpower?

Problem solving: the ability to look at a situation objectively, go beyond a fixated mindset to be open up to new ways of thinking, explore several options, visualize the worst case scenario, find a way around it and also have a back-up plan in place, all while remaining level headed.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by the opportunity to learn new things, explore new places, meet new and interesting people, and the possibility of making a positive impact in someone’s life

Her Story:

Kayla rock of dependability driven by the positive outcomes of hard work and perseverance. As the Director of Meetings and Events for the Organization for Human Brain Mapping, she develops all programming and logistics from start to finish for all live events from 3,500 people, convention centers and several hotels to upscale, intimate meetings. Kayla has also been involved in Board and Committee Development and Strategic planning sessions and internal employee relations and specialty groups.

Kayla graduated from University of Minnesota St. Cloud with a double major in Geography and Speech Communications and a minor in Travel and Tourism. She has over 15 years of experience in Meetings and Events in the medical field and 8 years of association experience in a leadership role.
