Tonisha Smith

Q&A

What do you really do at work?
I work with the Accounting Team and several GMP clients to ensure that financial statements are accurately prepared in accordance with GAAP. Some of my specific work involves reviewing and approving invoices for payment, general ledger posting, reconciling bank and investment accounts. I also make recommendations based upon the information from the financial statements.

Describe your Perfect Day.
A perfect day for me would consist of waking up near the beach where I can hear the waves from my balcony while watching the sun rise. During the day I will relax by the water with my feet in the sand only to return to the big screen and a recliner to watch the Green Bay Packers play a rival team at Lambeau Field.

What’s your Superpower?
Accountability. I take pride in everything that I do. I do my best to understand the tasks given to me and give it my all the first time around.

What’s your life motto?
“It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up”-Vince Lombardi

I believe that everything happens for a reason.

What inspires you?
My daughter is my inspiration because I want her to know that she can do anything that she puts her mind to. She is my miracle. She was born prematurely and came out a fighter. I make sure that she learns at least one new thing every day no matter how big or small it may seem. My duty as a mother is to be the best example for my child.
