About Meghan

Meghan brings nearly a decade of experience in planning meetings and events, with a career that has taken her from the Midwest to the West Coast, and across the globe. After graduating from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a degree in Communication Studies, she began her career at a Minnesota-based association management company. She then lived in San Diego, where she worked for a single association. Seeking a new challenge, Meghan spent a transformative year as Deputy Director for a youth charity on the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Reservation, where she gained experience in nonprofit management.

For the past five years, Meghan has been living in Scotland, planning events across the UK and Europe. Now back in Minnesota with her husband and dog, she’s bringing her global experience and passion for event planning to GMP.

In her free time you can find her outdoors, staying active, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. She has a rescue Belgian Malanois from Romania that loves couch cuddles and beach walks.

What do you really do for work?

As the Meetings and Education Manager for ASIS&T, I organize weekly webinars as well as plan our annual meeting.

Describe your perfect day

Wake up in a tent and enjoy a hike with our dog. If the sun is out, some time on the lake. The day leads us to a Mexican restaurant, where we meet family and friends for tacos and margaritas (preferably on a rooftop). End the day in bed by 9, reading a good book.

What's your superpower?

Staying calm under pressure.

What's your life motto?

“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” – Jane Goodall

What inspires you?

Seeing people dedicate themselves to causes they’re passionate about. In the association world, I have the privilege of working with volunteers who are deeply committed to their profession and its future. Being part of that shared mission motivates me to give my best, knowing I’m helping to support them.
