GMP Gives Back
At GMP, we feel it's important to give back to our community. This is why twice per year, GMP employees dedicate a portion of their day to provide a service and help those in need.
-- “At the end of the day it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished…it’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back.”
Around the holidays, the GMP team enjoyed singing songs while packing food for Second Harvest Heartland, a hunger relief organization which provides food to individuals in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Hyland-Bush-Anderson Lake Park Reserve
On a beautiful, sunny summer day, the GMP team got their hands dirty restoring an area of the Hyland-Bush-Anderson Lake Park Reserve to a native prairie habitat. We planted native flowers and other prairie plants in order to protect water quality, prevent erosion, and provide a diverse environment for wildlife. The event was organized by the Bush Lake Chapter of the Izaak Walton League.
Senior Community Services
The GMP team spent a brisk fall day raking leaves at homes of senior citizens in the surrounding community. Volunteer raking helps seniors remain in their homes longer, and they were very appreciative of the help!
Cookie Cart provides teens with life and leadership skills through employment in urban nonprofit bakeries. The visit started with a networking lunch where we learned about the teens’ hopes and career goals. The teens then spent the afternoon rotating between sessions about various types of career paths such as event planning, finance, law, association management, marketing communications and career tips.
Dress for Success
GMP team members brought in gently used clothes from their closets & held clothing swap. All remaining items were donated to Dress for Success & other various charities across the metro.
Dress for Success empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire & the development tools to help women thrive in work & in life.
