About Ruva
Ruva Schuster, MS, is the Communications and Membership Engagement Senior Specialist for the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy (AASPT), a component organization of the American Physical Therapy Association serving more than 7,500 members.
Originally from Zimbabwe, Ruva moved to the United States to attend Wingate University, where she earned a degree in Sport Management. A passion for serving people through nonprofits led her to pursue a Master of Science in Community Parks and Recreation Management from the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
Colleagues and clients have described her as solution-focused, a quick learner, and someone who consistently delivers more than what was asked.
What do you really do for work?
I make membership feel valuable, clear, and easy. Behind the scenes, I keep the operational pieces running smoothly, so that members who are practicing professionals can focus on what they do best. No two days look the same, and I genuinely love that.
Describe your perfect day
A good workout (running or yoga), a matcha latte, finishing home projects, and a home-cooked dinner with my husband and a good book to close it out.
What's your superpower?
Seeing what needs to be done and doing more than what was asked. Whether it is a scattered project, a communication gap, or a process that needs a cleaner home. I find the efficient path through it and build something others can actually use and sustain.
What's your life motto?
Stay true to who you are; authenticity goes a long way.
What inspires you?
People who show up fully for the communities they serve.
