About Jason
Jason is a nonprofit executive with over 23 years of experience in the sector. Prior to joining GMP, he previously served as Executive Director of the Society for Nonprofits, where he led operations, partnerships, and digital infrastructure while overseeing a national member network with a range of educational and grant resource programs. With a background in website development and database administration, he combines strategic leadership with strong technical skills. His work has focused on helping small and mid-sized nonprofits to strengthen their capacity through accessible tools, training, and collaboration. Jason is motivated by meaningful work, creative problem-solving, and building systems that make organizations more effective. Jason has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan. In his free time, he enjoys photography and spending time with his wife and son.
What do you really do for work?
As the Executive Director for professional associations, my work is all about keeping organizations focused, financially sound, and useful to their members. It involves relationship-building, strategy, operations, and creative problem solving. I’m responsible for keeping the organizations healthy and making sure that they’re delivering tangible value for members.
Describe your perfect day
A perfect day for me is a day spent with family and friends where we enjoy good conversation, lots of laughs, and simple moments together. Beyond that, the details are meaningless.
What's your superpower?
I’ve been told that my ability to fold a fitted sheet is a superpower. I tend to be hyperfocused when it comes to solving challenges.
