Katie Fernstaedt

Q&A

What do you really do at work?

I oversee educational programming, communications, and strategic planning for two clients: the Association of University Professors of Neurology (AUPN) and the General Thoracic Surgical Club (GTSC). Additionally, as Website Director for the Antenna Measurement Techniques Association (AMTA), I manage the organization’s website and coordinate membership communications. My goal is to support my clients’ growth and help them achieve their objectives, while consistently striving to meet and exceed their expectations.

Describe your Perfect Day.
My perfect day involves traveling to a new city or state, seeing the sights and asking the locals for recommendations on the best restaurants and wineries. The day would end with star gazing in a grassy field while imagining where my next adventure will lead me.

What’s your Superpower?
My co-workers call me 'eagle eyes'. I have a knack for looking at the minute details when it comes to reviewing agendas, letters, registration sites, etc.

What’s your life motto?
“The woman who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The woman who walks alone is likely to find herself in places no one has ever been before.”

What inspires you?
I am inspired by others who are experts in the areas I wish to improve on. Whether at work or in my personal life, I find myself observing others to learn how they handle certain situations. I feel like you can never stop learning and improving in life and by observing others around me, I am inspired to become a better and more successful version of myself.
